Maxwell Auerbach
Max Auerbach is a senior medical student at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. His interest in wilderness medicine began during his time in the Boy Scouts, where he learned the foundations of first aid and developed a lasting passion for the outdoors. After earning the rank of Eagle Scout and spending extensive time in the backcountry, he continued his training by completing a semester-long Wilderness First Responder course during college.
Throughout medical school, Max has remained actively engaged in wilderness medicine, serving both as a participant and instructor for the Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS) course. He also serves as President of UNECOM’s Wilderness Medicine Club. He is currently pursuing a career in Emergency Medicine and plans to continue integrating wilderness and austere medicine into his future clinical practice.
