Marcela Bahr

Marcela Bahr is an English-Spanish Translator born and raised in Santiago del Estero, Argentina. She graduated as a Technical-Scientific and Literary Translator and then as a Teacher of English from San Jose Superior Institute. She has worked since she was 20 years old as a teacher for kindergarten, then in Primary School and High School at Big Ben School ultimately becoming its English Coordinator. In the interim, she also held a position as a professor at the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero, teaching technical and scientific translation to students of computer engineering, and also to those studying for a Bachelors degree in Tourism. She has also taught Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at Profesorado San José (Institute where people attend to become certified teachers). In addition, she has worked translating written materials for local professionals (doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc) that resulted in her being hired by the Minister of Economy of Santiago del Estero to teach and train his team of advisors. As an interpreter, she had the experience of helping the Rotary medical team who came to operate pro bono on children with cleft palates from the rural areas of Santiago del Estero. The UCI events in Santiago del Estero and Medellin, Colombia (World Cup and World Championships respectively). Currently, she assists Richard Bahr around the world and with the World Skate medical advisory board providing translation and interpretation to the team of international doctors on behalf of WMI Global. As a passionate student of languages, she has recently graduated from the Alliance Française Internationale and is studying Italian at Società Dante Alighieri.
